Alongside textile floor coverings, in 2013 Vorwerk Carpets is presenting a collection of unique ecological elastomers for the business-site sector for the first time at the leading trade fairs Domotex and BAU: “RE/COVER green – the new organic flooring” is a new generation of elastic design floorings that offers solutions for a wide-ranging spectrum of applications.
Within the framework of its art commitment policy, Vorwerk is supporting the “Laboratory” at the Vienna Design Week 2012 in a capacity as General Partner. The design week takes place from September 28th to October 7th in the capital city of Austria. This is the first time that Vorwerk is actively supporting the international design festival.
Vorwerk Carpets has teamed with London-based fashion designer Louise Gray for the famous Wallpaper* Handmade Issue, as she added her own unique flair to the geometric shapes of Home Island carpet tiles.
between diversity and uniqueness
“Fascination”, one of the most successful collections from Vorwerk Carpets, is being presented completely new. In the case of this collection comprised of broadloom carpets, bordered rugs and “Floor Sculptures” floor tiles, a multifaceted quality, look, structure and colour have all been brought to the fore.
Within the framework of its corporate Art Commitment policy towards art & culture, Vorwerk Carpets has actively supported another installation by Jürgen Mayer H., a border-crossing architect and designer. During Gallery Weekend Berlin, a main cultural event in the capital city in which roughly 50 galleries in Berlin jointly celebrate the grand openings of their ‘Year’s Best’ exhibits, Jürgen Mayer H.’s fascinating spatial experiment entitled “Rapport” (‘Repeat Pattern’) was shown at the newly inaugurated JOH3 building.
Top-notch design presentations
Vorwerk was represented at the world’s most significant event for design, the Salone Internationale del Mobile in Milan, with not one but three equally different and outstanding presentations.

Vorwerk Carpets is one of the most sustainable manufacturers in Germany
CSR stands for corporate social responsibility, the voluntary and identifiable assumption of responsibility for social issues by a company. For Vorwerk Carpets, CSR has been only natural for years and represents a key part of company policy. With “Eco Balance”, a programme agenda is being thought and lived here which places the ecological, economic and social aspects of sustainability in a symbiotic contect. Vorwerk has – once again – received official confirmation for pioneering CSR conduct. In the form of two awards.
Vorwerk Carpets presentation at Heimtextil causes a sensation
While attending the Heimtextil trade fair from the 11th to the 14th of January, 2012 in Frankfurt, Vorwerk presented not one but two innovations: “Scale Living”, the first collection of free-form tiles for the home, as well as “Cover” and “Frame”, the two new products from the “Selected Rugs” collection. The innovations were received enthusiastically by visitors from Germany and abroad. The booth conceived by architect Hadi Teherani, a sculpture with a mirrored surface modeled on the free-form tiles in “Scale Living”, was as good as ‘filled to the brim’ at times.
The special exhibition “From Aalto to Zumthor: Furniture by Architects” opened on January 16th, 2012 at the MAKK, the Museum for Applied Art, in Cologne. Several hundred guests attended.
Besides classics in seating furniture by Le Corbusier, Walter Gropius and O.M. Ungers, lamps, lighting fixtures and carpets are on exhibit, too. Among the exclusive pieces to be seen: the carpet-tile collection “Scale Living” from Vorwerk Carpets, which arose in co-operation with architect Hadi Teherani.
“Selected Rugs” and “Scale Living” now in Salzburg, too
Vowerk is represented at CASA, the international trade fair for creative living at home, decorating and lifestyle, from the 25th to the 28th of January, 2012. The trade fair has a new, attractive concept, and now takes place every two years on an alternating schedule with BAU in Munich.
Vorwerk presents new carpet creations – and becomes a platinum partner
Vorwerk will be presenting two innovations at the Heimtextil trade fair in Frankfurt from January 11th to 14th, which will be of particular interest to sophisticated fitters and interior designers. One of them is "Scale Living", the first collection of free-form tiles for the home, which celebrated its premiere at the new furniture and design trade fair Qubique in Berlin. The three fascinating tile shapes can be composed in any number and arrangement desired to form individualised carpets.
The Vorwerk “Selected Rugs” collection is an expression of the paramount philosophy of Transflooring at Vorwerk: to transform floors into worlds and generate an awareness of them as an active element in designing a space. Now they are being joined by two more fascinatingly sensual, versatile products: “COVER” and “FRAME”.
